Launching after a ‘rabbit hole’ dive…

Settling in nicely after my home move I started to catch-up with my fellow bloggers’ posts and read one from Natalie Ducey about different web site options for bloggers. This sparked the idea that I needed everything I offered available in one place online; my blog, digital art shop, books, email marketing, automation & stories for clients and readings. This idea seemed simple and my lack of technical knowledge blurred the enormity of the task I had taken on. Innocently, I dived in and disappeared down a rabbit hole for a fortnight.

At the start, not knowing what I was doing meant that I couldn’t ask Google the relevant questions to get the help I needed. So, optimism, joy at being in my new home, trust, clear dreams with the next step forward being shown, helpful souls on YouTube, humour, swearing aloud, ice cream, Netflix, knitting and sheer dogged determination carried me through. My laptop, which I had been nursing with a charging issue for ages, died halfway into the project. Lack of time and a limited budget flowed me down a route where I chose a beefy recon desktop system, which, helpfully, has solved other issues I was grappling with. With the amount of gaming happening during our global pandemic, there is a demand for these systems and I am grateful to the gamers and a company in Lancashire who rescued me.

So, emerging from my self-induced rabbit hole, I have a new site. If you wish, you can click on Jane Sturgeon or browse the menu above. With much love, hope and also, gratitude to anyone who spots hiccups or anything else I may have missed and kindly lets me know.

  1. Cheers to you, Jane, for all that you’ve done. It’s a lot of work for sure. Bravo to you, and many thanks for the mention, too. I really appreciate it. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Natalie, for your support and inspiration. I am grateful for you Tweets too. They highlighted my lack of a featured image on my pages, so I have just sorted that. I feel like I’m flying, unaware that my dress is tucked into my knickers! Much <3 to you. Xx

      1. Jane, your website looks fabulous! High five! 🙂 I know how much work goes into it, so big cheers to you! I experienced a few hicups along the way, but I figured them out in due time. It’s all a process, but worth it in the end. Always happy to help. Cheering you on! xo

        1. Yes, thank you, Natalie. I pushed myself too hard and you are right, it is a process. We figure it out in layers as we learn along the way and it is worth it in the end. Thank you for all your support and encouragement. Xx ❤️

Way to go, Jane! I’ll bet you felt proud of yourself for figuring it all out. It’s hard to put a price on that.

  3. You new website is fabulous Jane! Wow! Congratulations on a job well done. I didn’t know you did readings? That sounds really intriguing, especially that you work with spirits, and are able to tap into those veiled aspects of life. I might have to sign up. All my best to you, so glad you came up from the rabbit hole, your presence is vital. C

    1. Thank you, Cheryl, for your kind and thoughtful words. Ozark has kept me going down the rabbit hole and I am grateful to you for suggesting it. I reached the startling conclusion of Series three yesterday evening. You are a shining light of warmth and wit. Much <3 flowing to you all. Xx

  4. Looks beautiful Jane! Congratulations! And you watch Ozark…?.?
We just started season 3… An amazing show. Don’t tell me anything. We’ll catch up when we finish season 3.
Happy Day to you and I am so happy you are settled into your new home.

    1. Hello lovely, thank you. <3 Yes, I have just finished season 3. No words, no pack drill. I have been gripped. I love my new home. Wishing you both a lovely weekend, with much <3 always. Xx

  5. Persistence is a gift <3 You are too much. You tackled a huge technical project at the worst time for the planets – Full moon, lunar eclipse, mercury retrograde!!! What were you thinking woman! You can't defy such powers. My laptop gave out too and so did 2 other writer friends. These are forces difficult to reckon with. You are such a warrior woman LOL. Hugs, now and enjoy and breathe! <3 xoxoxo

    1. Oh no, your laptop too? I hope you have been alright with the transfer to a new system? Yes, I had one of those ‘insights’ and questioned the wisdom of doing this now, especially so soon after a home move, but the ‘insight’ was so strong. I have learned not to question these ‘insights’. This week, there has been a development with a loved one and now all has become clear as to the ‘Why’ this needed doing at my end. Onwards, my unicorn buddy, because that is what us girls do…huge love flowing to you both across our Pond. Ohh, and WP put your comment into spam…I had a word! <3 <3 <3 xXx

      1. Yes, you sure have had the ‘everything at once’ syndrome lately. But the universe obviously always has a plan. <3 Oye! Again I'm in the dumpster! Thanks for finding me Lovely LOL <3 <3 xxxxx

  6. Congratulations! I can tell you put a lot of work into this and it looks beautiful! Easy to navigate, too. Your perseverance is inspiring!

    1. Thank you for your lovely thoughts and for taking the time to look at my new site. Yes, we are all in it together and here’s to our loving connections and emergence. <3

    1. You are lovely, Clare. Thank you. Much love, always, flowing to you all. I hope you have managed some time outside, given all the rain we have been having. <3 <3 <3 xXx

      1. Lovely, Jane! <3 <3 I have spent a little time outside, but not as much as I would have liked. I don't think we've had as much rain as you have. XXxxXX

  7. Congratulations Jane on your new and refreshed website, and your new home and new computer system. I can totally relate to the rabbit hole scenario. It always feels great to come out the other side though with new vigour. Cheers to all the newness.
