Rain On Our Parade

sunflower sunshine

My Mum mentioned she had read an article in the newspaper about the mouthwash she uses having serious side effects. She doesn't use it every day, so everything is in moderation, and we agreed that these kinds of articles are fear-mongering and unhelpful.

It sparked thoughts.

There are many aiming to rain on our parade, and fear-mongering is an easy route for them to take. This became obvious during the pandemic and it is continuing.

We have many unfathomable and distressing things happening in our world, and we need to be aware, yet, if we focus on them to the exclusion of all else, we deplete the very loving energy that will bring about change.

In our day to day lives, who or what do we allow to rain on our parade?

Watch for the articles, clips, conversations and situations that are meant to trigger us, to lead us down a path that others want us to follow. There is heavy political campaigning happening in a few countries, including here in the UK. The headlines scream out for attention and if we pause to read, they rarely relate to the headline that drew us in. Some people thrive on drama and their conversations are stuffed with it, leaving us dripping in information we neither wanted nor needed.

Fraught situations are created to draw people in, and we don't have to permit anyone to rain on our parade.

We don't have to read an article, we don't have to listen and we don't have to step into a dramatic situation. We have a choice. There are simple and kind ways of not getting into things and situations that are heavy with rain.

During the day, sunflowers turn their heads to follow the sun, even when it's cloudy.

There are many tiny sparks of love in our daily round that don't have to be snuffed out by rain. There is kindness flowing in many ways; thoughts, words, sights, acts, situations and energy from those who live in loving energy.

I'll share this story, which makes Tim laugh.

Our friend's little one will soon be three and we were putting together her birthday parcel. I passed Tim her birthday card and asked him to draw a little train under our names, as she calls us Uncle and Aunty Train.

Tim replied, 'Would you like it front or side elevation?'

When I finished laughing (lovingly),

'Tim, only a designer would ask me that. She's three. It just needs to look like a train!'

I so agree, so many distractions which are purposely trying to derail us.. lol no pun intended.. :-) And what we focus our attention upon is what we create... Much better to choose the lighter brighter things in life as we envisage a better more loving world, on how we wish and dream our future to be. Rather than homing in on all that is wrong with it.. Change begins from simple things, like caring and sharing.. Sending LOVE my friend xx

I love that when we CHOOSE to stay in the vibration of love, we have so much more to celebrate rather than worry over. - Annette Rochelle Aben

There is a lot of noise out there designed to distract us. They say that empty vessels make the most noise so be careful to listen to the quietter, more reasoned noises to help make decisions, especially those that affect others. Remember that diversity should be celebrated and not feared so not to allow anyone to tell you that anything different is wrong or bad. Show kindness and understanding to all. Refugees have already experienced much and don't need intolerance in what they think is a place of safety. Enjoy cultural differences, remembering that if you go abroad on holiday you are paying to share them, why fear them at home? Remember if you can the opening words of th…

Exactly, Pete, no-one needs it, and it is ego and sometimes driven by hurt that hasn't healed. There is much grace in peace and calm. Much love flowing to you and Debby. Xx🩷
